Q4

The Prophet Mohammed said, "O People! You are about to have the opportunity of a month which is at once glorious and full of blessing. It is a month which has a night that is better than a thousand months and that is laylat al Qard (Night of Power). Allah has prescribed for you fasting during this month and has made your standing in worship during its night an optional act (taraveeh prayers). If anyone does an act of piety during this month to gain nearness to Allah then he gets as many rewards as one gets after performing a fard (compulsory) in any other month. If he performs a fard (compulsory) during this month then he gets so many rewards as he accrues on doing seventy faraid (compulsory acts) in any other month.

This is the month of patience. The reward against patience is Paradise. This is a month of good-will and compassion. It is a month in which the provisions of a believer are increased. If anyone offers iftaar (meal taken at breaking fast) to a fasting person in this month, his conduct becomes a means of forgiveness for his sins and deliverance from the fire and he gets as many rewards as the fasting person will get without anything being deducted from the rewards of the fasting person.

The companions enquired, "O Messenger of Allah! Everyone of us does not have so much as to offer iftaar to a fasting person."
The Holy Prophet replied, 'Allah rewards even that person who offers a single date, a sip of water, or milk to which water is added as iftaar to anyone'.

It is a month whose first portion is mercy, the middle of it is forgiveness and the final part of it is deliverance from hell. If anyone remits some of the task of his servant (employees) in this month, Allah will forgive him and deliver him from hell.

Therefore, do four things frequently in this month, two of which will fetch you the pleasure of your Lore and the other two are such that you cannot do without. The two which will fetch you the pleasure of your Lord are:
1. Keep testifying "Laa ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah)
2. Seek forgiveness of Allah by saying AstaghfiruAllah
The two which you cannot do without are:
1. Keep asking Allah for paradise and,
2. Seek his protection from the hellfire.

If anyone feeds a fasting person to a satiating point, Allah will give him such a drink from my spring (al-Kauther) that on drinking it he will not feel thirst until he enters paradise.
The fasts of the month of Ramadan remain suspended between heaven and earth and only through sadaqat al-fitr they are raised to heaven.
When it is the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Angels stand at the corners of roads and call out 'O Muslims! Come to the Lord who inspires you to good and thus favors you and then rewards heavily against that. You were asked to stand in the nights and you stood accordingly. You were commanded to observe fasts during the days and you kept the fasts. You obeyed your Lord, so now collect your rewards.'
So when the people have offered prayers, a caller announces: 'Listen! Your Lord has forgiven you. Go now, to your homes having received guidance." In fact, the day of Eid is a day of rewards and in the heavens it is called Yawm ul-Ja'izah (the day of rewards). (Tabarani, Targheeb, Abu Hafs, Ibn Khazeemah, Bayhaqi)Posted on: October 12, 2006, 07:55:47 PM________________________________________________ _Q9 and about the day of Arafah

Abu Qatadah reported that the Messenger of Allah said: "Fasting on the day of 'Arafah is an expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it. Fasting the day of 'Ashurah is an expiation for the year preceding it." This is related by "the group," except for al-Bukhari and at-Tirmidhi.
2. Hafsah reported: "There are five things that the Prophet never abandoned: fasting the day of 'Ashurah, fasting the [first] ten [days of Dhul-Hijjah], fasting three days of every month and praying two rak'ah before the dawn prayer." This is related by Ahmad and an-Nasa'i.
3. 'Uqbah ibn 'Amr reported that the Messenger of Allah said: "The day of 'Arafah, the day of sacrifice, and the days of tashreeq are 'ids for us--the people of Islam--and they are days of eating and drinking." This is related by "the five," except for Ibn Majah. At-Tirmidhi grades it sahih.
4. Abu Hurairah stated: "The Messenger of Allah forbade fasting on the day of 'Arafah for one who is actually at 'Arafah." This is related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, an-Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah.
At-Tirmidhi comments: "The scholars prefer that the day of 'Arafah be fasted unless one is actually at 'Arafah."
5. Umm al-Fadl said: "The people were in doubt over whether or not the Prophet was fasting on the day of 'Arafah. I sent him some milk, and he drank it while he was delivering an address to the people at 'Arafah." This is related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
[br]Posted on: October 12, 2006, 07:58:02 PM________________________________________________ _[b]About people who are exempt from fasting

Quran 2:184

184 (Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill or on a journey the prescribed number (should be made up) from days later. For those who can do it (with hardship) is a ransom the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more of his own free will it is better for him and it is better for you that ye fast if ye only knew.
Posted on: October 12, 2006, 08:01:36 PM________________________________________________ _[b]Exemptions from fasting in detail from Fiqh 3.115

Essential elements of fasting, those who are permitted to break the fast, but who must pay a "ransom" for not fasting
Elderly men and women are permitted to break their fasts, as are the chronically ill, and those who have to perform difficult jobs under harsh circumstances and who could not find any other way to support themselves. All of these people are allowed to break their fast, because such a practice would place too much hardship on them during any part of the year. They are obliged to feed one poor person [miskin] a day (for every day of fasting that they do not perform). The scholars differ over how much food is to be supplied, for example, a sa', half a sa', or a madd. There is nothing in the sunnah that mentions exactly how much is to be given.
Ibn 'Abbas said: "An elderly man is permitted to break his fast, but he must feed a poor person daily. If he does this, he does not have to make up the days that he did not fast. This is related by ad-Daraqutni and by al-Hakim, who said it is sahih. Al-Bukhari recorded that 'Ata heard Ibn 'Abbas recite the 'ayah: "And for those who can fast , there is a "ransom': the feeding of a person in need" [al-Baqarah 185]. Then Ibn 'Abbas continued: "It has not been abrogated. [Its ruling applies] to elderly men and women who are not able to fast. Instead, they must feed one poor person on a daily basis."
The same is true for one who is chronically ill and as such cannot fast, and for one who is forced to work under harsh circumstances and as such cannot endure the additional burden of fasting. Both groups must also feed one poor person daily.
Commenting on al-Baqarah's 'ayah, Sheikh Muhammad 'Abduh says: "What is meant by those who can fast' [(but do not) in the Qur'anic verse] is the weak elderly people, the chronically ill, and so on, and similarly, those workers who are working under severe conditions, such as coal miners. The same applies to criminals who are sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labor. They have to pay the 'ransom' if they have the means to do so."
[br]Posted on: October 12, 2006, 08:03:48 PM________________________________________________ _[b]Pregnant and Breast Feeding women (continued from Fiqh 3.115

Pregnant and breast-feeding women, if they fear for themselves or for the baby, can break the fast and pay the "ransom." They do not have to make up the days missed. Abu Dawud related from 'Ikrimah that Ibn 'Abbas said concerning the 'ayah "And for those who can fast [but do not],": "This is a concession for the elderly, as they can fast. They are to break the fast and feed one poor person a day. Pregnant or breast-feeding women, if they fear for the child, can do likewise." This is related by al-Bazzar. At the end of the report, there is the addition: "Ibn 'Abbas used to say to his wives who were pregnant: 'You are in the same situation as those who can fast [but do not]. You are to pay the "ransom" and do not have to make up the days later.' " Of its chain, ad-Daraqutni says it is sahih.
Nafi' reported that Ibn 'Umar was asked about a pregnant woman who feared for her unborn baby. He replied: "She is to break the fast and to feed one poor person a day one madd of barley."
There is also a hadith that states: "Allah has relieved the travelers of fasting and half of the prayer, and the pregnant and the breast-feeding women of the fast."According to the Hanafiyyah, Abu Ubaid, and Abu Thaur, such women are only to make up the missed days of fasting, and they are not supposed to feed one poor person a day. According to Ahmad and ash-Shaf'i, if such women fear only for the baby, they must pay the "ransom" and make up the days later. If they fear only for themselves or for themselves and the baby, then they are only to make up the missed days at a later date.

q11

yupe it is fidya

It was narrated that Salamah ibn al-Akwa’ (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “When this aayah was revealed – ‘And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (e.g. an old man), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a Miskeen (poor person) (for every day)’ [al-Baqarah 2:184 – interpretation of the meaning] – those who wanted not to fast could do that, and pay the fidyah (i.e., feed one poor person for each day).

q 15

fasting day of arafah
Abu Qatadah reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, "Fasting on the day of 'Arafah is an expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it. Fasting the day of 'Ashurah is an expiation for the year preceding it." [This is related by "the group," except for al-Bukhari and at-Tirmidhi]

Takbeer

It is Sunnah to say Takbeer ("Allaahu akbar"), Tahmeed ("Al-hamdu Lillaah"), Tahleel ("La ilaha ill-Allaah") and Tasbeeh ("Subhaan Allaah") during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and to say it loudly in the mosque, the home, the street and every place where it is permitted to remember Allaah and mention His name out loud, as an act of worship and as a proclamation of the greatness of Allaah, may He be exalted. Men should recite these phrases out loud, and women should recite them quietly.

dua

It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best of du’aa’ is du’aa’ on the day of ‘Arafah, and the best that I and the Prophets before me said is ‘Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the dominion, to Him be praise, and He has power over all things).” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (3585)’ classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb (1536).

q14( i am not sure about it :( )

It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no day on which Allaah ransoms more of His slaves from the Fire than the day of ‘Arafah. He draws close then He boasts about them before the angels and says, ‘What do these people want?’” Narrated by Muslim (1348).
